Nawanshahr,    (Asian independent)   (Jatinderpal Singh Kaler): Promising daughter of Kathgarh village, Vanika Choudhary, on the strength of her hard work, ability, self-confidence, and firm resolve, has achieved another major success by earning the honor of Student Council President of PG Government Girls College, Sector-42, Chandigarh. Vanika Choudhary registered a magnificent victory by securing a total of 401 votes while contesting as an independent candidate. There were a total of 2,747 student voters in the college, out of which 856 students exercised their right to vote. Thus, approximately 31 percent voter turnout was recorded during the elections. Following Vanika’s victory, supporters expressed joy and celebrated the win on the college campus. In the new student council, Ashi Gulia secured the post of Vice President, Bhanvi as Secretary, and Kirti as Joint Secretary. Ashi Gulia received 315 votes, Bhanvi 359, and Kirti 364 votes. Vanika’s victory is considered particularly special because she won the students’ trust by entering the electoral fray as an independent candidate rather than relying on any political or student organization. Vanika Choudhary has previously been active as a student representative in the college. Her name was also listed as a BA-First Year class representative in the college’s 2024-25 election results.
