Nawanshahr, (Asian independent) (Jatinder Pal Singh Kaler ): The monthly meeting of Medical Practitioners Association (Regd: 295) Punjab Block Nawanshahr was held at a private restaurant in the city under the presidentship of Block President Dr. Harjinder Singh. During the meeting, social issues and activities of the association were discussed. Addressing the meeting, Block President Dr. Harjinder Singh strongly condemned the desecration of Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar’s statue in Ludhiana. He said that Baba Saheb does not belong to one caste or religion but is the property of the entire nation. Any kind of ugly act against his dignity is not tolerable. He demanded from the administration that strict legal action should be taken against the culprits and exemplary punishment should be given so that no one dares to do such an act in future. District President Dr. Kashmir Singh Dhillon while addressing the meeting said that as per the government notification, forms of all colleagues have been submitted to the government for registration of unregistered doctors. Punjab President Dr. Dhanna Mal Goyal is in constant touch with the government and training is expected to start soon. In the meeting, bone and joint disease specialist and owner of Gurmeet Hospital, Dr. Mangat Singh Ji attended as special guest. While telling about the facilities available in the hospital, he said that successful operations of bones and joints are done in the hospital at very reasonable cost. The association honoured Dr. Mangat Singh Ji with a memento. The proceedings of the meeting were conducted efficiently by Dr. Manjit Laddhar. On this occasion Dr. Deepak Malhotra, Dr. Chandra Prakash, Dr. Surinder Katwara and S. Sukhjinder Singh Ji also shared their views.
