The British Youth International College (BYITC) welcomed more than 100 guests to a special awards ceremony celebrating the achievements of 29 exceptional young learners at the BYITC Inspire Awards 2026 – Achievers Spotlight, at St Augustine’s Church in Bishopbriggs on Saturday, 20 June.

Friends, families, educators, and supporters gathered to honour students across three key categories – She Power Awards, International Maths Olympiad winners, and Abacus Programme graduates, recognising excellence in academic achievement, confidence, leadership, and personal development.

The event, attended by a distinguished panel of judges and chief guests including Mrs Rohini Sharma Joshi OBE, Mr Kiran Sagar, Mr Harminder Berman, and Mr Charan Gill MBE, highlighted the remarkable accomplishments of young people aged 6 to 14 from across the UK and Ireland, many of whom have excelled in BYITC’s pioneering Supermaths Abacus programme, as well as in wider academic and extracurricular fields.

With 34 awards and 29 different winners, some children won in multiple categories, while a total of seven students were recognised as She Power Award winners, celebrating outstanding female achievers who demonstrated excellence across the categories of academics, leadership, creativity, sport, and community impact.

In addition, the 9th International Maths Olympiad winners were applauded for their exceptional problem-solving skills and performance in BYITC’s global competition.

The ceremony also recognised a large cohort of Abacus graduates, who have devoted years of dedication to mastering mental maths skills.

Dr Rashmi Mantri, Founder of BYITC, said: “Every child we celebrated today represents the very best of what young people can achieve when they are given the right guidance, encouragement, and opportunity.

“These awards are not just about academic success; they recognise resilience, confidence, creativity, and the willingness to keep challenging yourself. It was incredibly inspiring to see so many young learners excelling across multiple areas.

“We were delighted to welcome families and supporters to share in this moment. Their encouragement plays a vital role in every child’s journey.”

The event was supported by sponsors Kiran Sagar and Saravanaa Bhavan, whose contributions helped make the celebration possible.

BYITC, headquartered in Glasgow, is recognised as a global leader in innovative education and the creator of the world’s first game-based abacus learning application. Its programmes continue to support children in developing essential skills for success in both academics and life.
