102 Teachers Received Basic and Advanced Scout Training
Chandigarh (Asian independent) (jatinder pal singh kaler ) The Bharat Scouts and Guides, Punjab, successfully organized a seven-day Basic and Advanced Training Camp for teachers from across Punjab at the State Training Centre, Tara Devi (Shimla). The camp was conducted under the guidance of State Secretary Roshan Lal Sood, with leadership from State Organizing Commissioner Onkar Singh and Karnail Singh, LT Rover, who represented the National Headquarters, New Delhi.A total of 102 teachers were trained to conduct scouting activities for students at various levels, including Cubs, Scouts, Guides, Rovers, and Rangers. The training aimed to strengthen leadership and scouting skills among educators so they can effectively guide students in their respective schools.
The camp covered a wide range of theoretical and practical sessions, including Flag Ceremony, BP Six Exercises, History of Scouting, Scout Law and Promise, Kit Management, Estimation, Map Reading, Compass Navigation, First Aid, Patrol System, Yoga, Inspection, Scout Uniform, Unit Formation, Record Maintenance, Unit Registration, Trekking, Session Methodology, Campfire, Sarva Dharma Prayer, Knowledge of Flags, Teamwork, Brotherhood, and Community Service. Participants were divided into patrols to ensure hands-on learning and practical experience throughout the training.

In addition to the regular sessions, STA assessment sessions were conducted daily to evaluate the trainees’ progress.
During the camp, State Chief Commissioner Dr. Sukhbir Singh Ball also visited and encouraged the participants to carry out scouting activities effectively in their schools and communities.
The training team included Principal Darshan Singh Bareta, Jagtar Singh (Sangrur), Mrs. Neeta Kashyap (SOC-G), Nirlep Kaur, Anu Malhotra, Sarbuta Singh, Pawan Kumar, Baljinder Pal Singh, Sukhpal Singh, Ranjit Singh, Dr. Sutantar Singh, Des Raj Singh, Deepanshu (SPM) , ASOC Manjit Kaur, and Adventure Instructor Jitender Kumar, all of whom made significant contributions to the successful execution of the camp.
One of the major attractions of the camp was the impressive pencil sketches created by camper Akashdeep Singh, which were highly appreciated by the participants.
Special practical sessions were also conducted on Wide Games, Night Hiking, Tracking Signs, and Search Signs. A dedicated session focused on the roles and responsibilities of a Unit Leader. Throughout the camp, participants enthusiastically took turns in managing patrol cooking, conducting inspections, preparing sessions, and performing various leadership responsibilities.
During the valedictory ceremony, Dr. Rupinder Singh and Shubham presented the camp report. Addressing the gathering, Onkar Singh stated that the Punjab Scouting team had become even stronger with the addition of this newly trained batch. Karnail Singh praised both the excellent facilities at the State Training Centre and the wholehearted cooperation and dedication shown by all the participants.
The camp concluded successfully, leaving the participants with valuable skills, cherished memories, and renewed enthusiasm to promote the ideals and activities of Scouting and Guiding throughout Punjab.
