(Asian independent) SEVA Trust UK a Bedford based charity has been honoured for their outstanding charitable work in England and India and received ‘Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) of the Year 2026’ Award from the Corporate Live Wire Prestige Awards Team. The ‘Central England Prestige Awards Event’ was held at the Moor Hall Hotel, Sutton Coldfield.
On behalf of SEVA Trust, the Founder and Chairman Charan Sekhon MBE, Vice-Chair Dr Baljit Upadhyay, Trustee Satnam Galsin and District Coordinator for Punjab Projects Shaminder Garcha received the award and said ‘We are deeply honoured, and delighted to receive this prestigious award. A huge thank you to our incredible team and everyone who supported us along the way. We are proud to operate on the foundational principle of Seva (selfless service) and operate a 100% donation policy that means all the donations go towards the cause, not to pay anyone salary. We dedicate this award to all our volunteers and supporting partners especially to our India Operations Chairman Naresh Mittal and to all the Trustees and Project Delivery Teams. Jacob Brown, Director of the Prestige Awards Team said ‘The judges were impressed by the highly impactful welfare projects benefiting disadvantaged families and individuals in England and India especially setting up North India’s first free multi-facility home for children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) in Haryana, helping more than 100,000 families and students through various projects and running successful programmes for women and girls in North India covering Punjab and Haryana. In England, SEVA Trust operates without a single paid staff and assisted more than 1,500 students, 600 families, and elderly or vulnerable people through various community projects and events, which is a remarkable achievement’
These annual awards are conducted by the Corporate Live Wire Prestige Awards Team and awarded to the best performing businesses and non-profit organisations who have made a significant social and community impact.
Previously SEVA Trust UK was named “Charity of the Year” at the 2019 British Indian Awards and “Non Profit Organisation of the Year 2021” for their exceptional community and students support work during Corona Pandemic in England.
