Greater Noida,   (Asian independent)   : Prof. Madan Mohan Goel, former Vice-Chancellor,Propounder Needonomics School of Thought has been appointed Honorary Advisor and Friend of the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida. The appointment has been conveyed through an official letter dated August 1, 2026, issued by Dr. (Brig.) Rakesh K. Gupta, Director, GIMS, pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding signed between GIMS and the Prof. M.M. Goel Needonomics Foundation. The honour recognizes Prof. Goel’s distinguished academic contributions and his pioneering work in advancing Needonomics as a value-based, ethical, and sustainable framework for education, governance, healthcare, and societal development. The letter notes that his commitment to need-based thinking, moral responsibility, sustainability, and Gita-inspired ethical values closely aligns with the mission of GIMS. In his honorary role, Prof. Goel will provide guidance for academic, research, training, and capacity-building initiatives in areas such as Needonomics, professional ethics, value-based healthcare education, responsible resource utilisation, and sustainable healthcare delivery. The collaboration will also promote workshops, seminars, publications, educational modules, and joint research projects under the MoU. Welcoming the appointment, Prof. Goel expressed gratitude to the GIMS leadership for the confidence reposed in him. He stated that the collaboration would strengthen the integration of ethics, empathy, sustainability, and responsible resource management in medical education and healthcare governance. He reaffirmed his commitment to working with GIMS to advance value-based healthcare and contribute to the national vision of Viksit Bharat through the principles of Needonomics.
