Grand Opening of Block-Level Games on September 7 at ITI College, Nawanshahr
Nawanshahr (Asian independent) (Jatinderpal Singh Kaler ): Under the Punjab government’s ‘Tandrust Punjab, Sehatmand Punjab’ mission—designed to revive sports culture in the state and connect youth with a healthy lifestyle—the grand opening ceremony of the block-level games for the mega-event ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan 2026’ will be held in Nawanshahr on September 7. Sharing their views, Advocate Sanjeev Choudhary Chechi, District President and Chairman of the District Planning Board, Nawanshahr; Robbie Kang, Constituency In-charge, Nawanshahr; and Lucky Ladhra, AAP Youth Wing District President, highly praised the initiative of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. They stated that such initiatives play a crucial role in keeping the youth away from the curse of drugs and channeling their energy in a positive and constructive direction. They announced that the opening ceremony will take place with great enthusiasm on September 7, 2026 (Monday) at 11:00 AM at ITI College, Nawanshahr (Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar). The leaders noted that these games provide a wonderful platform for hidden talent at the village and block levels to advance to national and international stages. They emphasized that youth involvement in sports is essential for building a healthy Punjab, as it enhances both physical fitness and mental development. Held under the supervision of the District Administration, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, and the District Sports Officer, comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure player convenience. Advocate Sanjeev Choudhary Chechi, Robbie Kang, and Lucky Ladhra earnestly appealed to all sports enthusiasts, panches, sarpanches, and youth of the Nawanshahr region to attend the event in large numbers at ITI College, Nawanshahr, on September 7 at 11:00 AM to boost the morale of the athletes and ensure the success of the sports festival. Officials from the Sports Department and local sports lovers are displaying immense enthusiasm for the event.
