Al-Mustafa(PBUH) International University Recognizes Seminarians and Students for Academic and Religious Excellence
Srinagar (Asian independent) In the holy city of Qom, Iran, on the occasion of the beginning of the new academic year, several students from different countries who demonstrated outstanding and distinguished performance in the fields of academic, cultural, and religious services were honored with certificates and awards by Ayatollah Dr. Ali Abbasi, Head of Al-Mustafa (PBUH) International University and a member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts for Leadership, in the presence of senior scholars, teachers, religious figures, officials, and students from various seminaries.
On the occasion, young Kashmiri religious preacher Waseem Raza Qomi was also presented with an award and certificates. He hails from Jammu and Kashmir. He is currently pursuing religious studies at Al-Mustafa (PBUH) International University while also participating as an analyst and commentator on various television channels on religious, cultural, and political affairs. He is also the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the well-known weekly newspaper Wilayat Times, published from Kashmir.
The honor serves as an acknowledgment and encouragement of the students’ valuable academic and religious services, while also reminding them of their responsibilities.
Addressing the gathering of teachers and students, Ayatollah Abbasi referred to the performance and achievements of Al-Mustafa International University as an international academic center. He said that despite the concerns and difficulties during the initial days of the Iran-US war, the light of knowledge and education continued to shine at Al-Mustafa, and the institution continued to fulfill its role with determination and perseverance. He added that the teachers, officials, and students associated with the institution continued their tireless efforts to fulfill their religious and missionary responsibilities and played an important role around the world.
The event was also addressed by several prominent figures, including Hojjat al-Islam Dr. Mohammad Naseri Rafiei, Chancellor of the Department of Higher Education Center for the History, Sirah and the Civilization Studies and a well-known Iranian preacher, as well as Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Shaykh Hossein Abdol-Mohammadi, Head of the seminary and a professor at the Islamic seminary. The speakers highlighted the importance of promoting knowledge and research, as well as the active participation of students in cultural and religious outreach activities alongside their academic and religious education. They also expressed their best wishes to the students and teachers for the new academic year.
Among those who received awards and certificates were several students from India, including Maulana Fayaz Mohsin, Maulana Waseem Raza Kashmiri, and Maulana Syed Mahmood Hasan Rizvi, among others
