Surrey (Asian independent) (Harjinder pal Chhabra) November 2, 2026, marked a significant milestone in my journey as I officially took my Oath of Office as Surrey City Councillor, alongside Mayor Doug McCallum and my fellow Councillors. Surrounded by family, friends, and community members, this moment marked not only the beginning of a new chapter at City Hall, but also a continuation of my lifelong commitment to public service, community leadership, and the people of Surrey. I am deeply grateful to every resident who placed their trust and confidence in me, to the volunteers and supporters who stood beside me throughout this journey, and to my family for their unwavering love and encouragement. As I step into this responsibility, I remain committed to responsible leadership, accountability, approachability, and meaningful action that makes a difference in the lives of Surrey residents. A new chapter, a greater responsibility, and the same commitment to serve. Thank you, Surrey. I am ready to serve, ready to work, and ready to represent you.
