District Level Meeting of Bharatiya Kisan Union Rajewal Regarding Preparations for Chandigarh Dharna, Convoy of Farmers to Leave for Chandigarh at 9 AM on September 1 from Toll Plaza Jiuwal Bachhuan – Kulwinder Sarpanch Paragpur

Nawanshehar    (Asian independent)    (Jatinderpal Singh Kaler): A district-level meeting of the Bharatiya Kisan Union Rajewal was held at Toll Plaza Bachhuan under the chairmanship of District President Santokh Singh Railmajra. On this occasion, apart from various office bearers of the union, a large number of farmers participated. During the meeting, the preparations for the Kisan Sangharsh Morcha dharna to be held in Chandigarh on September 1st were fully reviewed and discussions were held to ensure maximum participation of farmers. During the meeting, farmer leaders said that this dharna being held in Chandigarh is being organized regarding important issues related to the rights of farmers and labourers. During this, opposition to the US-India Free Trade Agreement, abolition of the Directorate of Punjab Waters, retaining the rights of Punjab’s waters with Punjab, ensuring Minimum Support Price (MSP) on farmers’ crops and waiving off loans of farmers and labourers of Punjab will be raised prominently. Apart from this, the voice of the people of Punjab who are facing the problem of inflation will also be conveyed to the government through the dharna. Large Convoy of Farmers from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar to Reach Chandigarh District Press Secretary of Bharatiya Kisan Union Rajewal, Kulwinder Singh Sarpanch Paragpur Mand, while talking to journalists, said that from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district, farmers will be taken to Chandigarh jointly by Qaumi Kisan Union and Bharatiya Kisan Union Rajewal by mobilizing maximum gathering. Farmers will reach Chandigarh via trolleys, tractors and other vehicles to participate in the dharna which will last for a week. He said that necessary arrangements including food, bathing and sleeping will be made for the farmers participating in the dharna. He said that the convoy of farmers will leave for Chandigarh at 9 am on September 1 from Toll Plaza Jiuwal Bachhuan. Kulwinder Sarpanch Mand Appeals to Farmers of Villages to Reach in Large Numbers Kulwinder Singh Sarpanch Paragpur Mand appealed to the people of Punjab and especially the farmers to mobilize in large numbers from their respective villages and join this Kisan Sangharsh Morcha and raise their voice for their rights. He said that the unity of farmers and large participation will further strengthen the struggle.New Responsibility Given to Amritpal Singh Tajowal On this occasion, strengthening the organizational structure, the union appointed Amritpal Singh Tajowal as the Vice President of Balachaur Circle. The leaders congratulated him on getting the new responsibility and expressed hope that he will play an important role in further strengthening the activities of the organization for the rights of farmers. On this occasion, Vice President Swaran Singh, Gurmukh Singh Mehmudpur, Block President Amarjit Singh Sarpanch Sabka Vela, Surjit Singh from Tajowal, Balwinder Singh Vice President from Bir Kathgarh, Charan Singh Chhadouri, Satpal Singh, Gurmukh Singh Mehmudpur, Balwinder Singh, Kulwant Singh and other farmer leaders participated.
