Nawanshahr (Asian independent) (Jatinderpal Singh Kaler): A major action has been taken by the RTO Department, Nawanshahr, against vehicle drivers flouting traffic rules on the Balachaur-Ropar National Highway. Under the leadership of RTO Inderpal, strict checking of vehicles was conducted by setting up a special blockade at Bachhuan Toll Plaza.During the checking, a total of 5 vehicles were challaned for violating the rules. According to information, out of these, 2 vehicles came under action for being over-height and 2 vehicles for being overloaded, while one private bus was challaned for not having tax and pollution certificate.This sudden action by the RTO department created panic among the vehicle drivers who violate the rules. On the spot, officials clearly said that to ensure road safety, such checking campaigns will continue in the future as well against vehicles violating overloading, over-height and other traffic rules and no one will be spared.
