Religious congregation to continue from August 6 to 9; Grand Amrit Sanchar on August 9
Manchester (England) (Asian independent) Sukhjinder Singh Dhadde : The four-day Manchester Annual Gurmat Samagam 2026, dedicated to the 370th Parkash Gurpurab of Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib Ji, will commence today (August 6) at Heaton Park, Manchester, and continue until August 9. Providing details about the event, organisers Gyani Amrik Singh Rathour, Prabhjot Singh Peliya, Rachhpal Singh Darvesh, Bachan Singh Arora, Harpal Singh Vig, Raju Veer, Pappu Veer, Jaspal Singh Khalsa, Manjit Singh Khost, Lakhwinder Singh, Dalwinder Singh Sangi, Ranjit Singh Digwa, Pratap Singh Landan, Manorathpal Singh Landan, Sukhdev Singh Bharti, Tarvinder Singh, Sarabjot Singh Peliya, Baba Bachan Singh, Gurpartap Singh and Gurprehlad Singh Landan said that thousands of devotees from across the United Kingdom, Europe and other countries are expected to participate in the annual religious gathering. The organisers said that the four-day programme will feature continuous Gurbani Kirtan, Gurmat discourses, religious congregations, the Bhog of Akhand Path Sahib, and Guru Ka Langar throughout the event. They further informed that Singh Sahib Gyani Baljit Singh Ji of Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, and Head Granthi Gyani Phulla Singh Ji of Gurdwara Dukh Nivaran Sahib, Patiala, will attend the Samagam. In addition, the Panj Piare from Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Takht Sri Damdama Sahib will bless the congregation and administer Amrit Sanchar according to Sikh traditions. The Samagam will also feature renowned Sikh preachers and kirtanis, including Bhai Anantvir Singh (USA), Bhai Gurmeet Singh Shaant, Hazoori Ragi Bhai Simranpreet Singh, Bhai Sarabjit Singh Durg Wale, Hazoori Ragi Bhai Maninder Singh Ji, Bhai Dawinder Singh Khanne Wale, Bhai Ravinder Singh (Delhi), Bhai Sahib Singh, Bhai Mahinder Singh, Bhai Wadhans Singh Kabul Wale, Bibi Gurpreet Kaur, Bhai Sandeep Singh, Bhai Manmohan Singh Jalalabad Wale, Bhai Karanjeet Singh Khalsa and Bhai Charanjeet Singh Channi, who will inspire the sangat through Gurbani Kirtan and Gurmat sermons. The organisers announced that a Grand Amrit Sanchar will be held at 10:00 am on Sunday, August 9, at Heaton Park. Kakaars will be provided free of charge to those wishing to receive Amrit, enabling more devotees to embrace the Khalsa discipline. Apart from the religious programmes, the organisers have made extensive arrangements for Guru Ka Langar, volunteer services, medical assistance and information stalls for the convenience of the devotees. As in previous years, thousands of members of the Sikh community from the UK, Europe and other countries are expected to attend. Appealing to the Sikh community, the organisers urged families to participate in large numbers and take blessings from the four-day Gurmat Samagam. They said the event offers a unique opportunity to reconnect with Sikh traditions, Gurmat principles and the Khalsa way of life, adding that all preparations have been completed to ensure the successful conduct of the annual event.
