Leicester, 12 July — The Indian Workers Association (Great Britain) (IWA (GB)) has congratulated the England men’s football team on reaching the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup following a determined victory over Norway.
In a statement, the Association praised the players, coaching staff and supporters for their commitment, resilience and fighting spirit throughout the tournament.
Sital Singh Gill, General Secretary of the Indian Workers Association (Great Britain), said England’s success was a proud moment for the whole country and reflected the values of teamwork, determination and unity.
“Reaching the World Cup semi-finals is a remarkable achievement. The players have shown courage and discipline under pressure, proving that success comes through hard work, unity and mutual respect.”
Mr Gill said the England squad represented the diversity of modern Britain and demonstrated how people from different backgrounds can achieve success together.
“The Three Lions represent a modern Britain where talent, dedication and commitment matter more than race, religion or ethnic background. Their achievements continue to inspire millions across the country.”
The IWA (GB) said migrant communities have made significant contributions to Britain’s economic, social, cultural and sporting life and that football has the unique ability to bring people together regardless of background.
The Association wished England every success in the World Cup semi-finals and expressed the hope that the team’s outstanding performances would continue to unite and inspire communities across Britain through a shared sense of pride, inclusion and respect.
