Administration conducting surprise checks at gas agencies and petrol pumps to prevent hoarding and black marketing

Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar,   (Asian independent)   (jatinder pal singh kaler ) Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh today reinforced that there is no shortage of LPG, petrol or diesel in the district and assured residents that the district administration is keeping a close watch on the entire supply chain to ensure uninterrupted availability of these essential commodities. The Deputy Commissioner said that the administration is conducting surprise checking at three gas agencies and three petrol pumps on a daily basis so that stocking, hoarding or any kind of black marketing of LPG cylinders and petroleum products can be prevented. He informed that so far officials have inspected 16 gas agencies and more than 30 petrol pumps across the district and no lapse has been found during these inspections. Reassuring the public, the DC urged residents not to panic over the availability of LPG cylinders, petrol or diesel, stating that sufficient stocks of these essential commodities are available in the district. He appealed to people to refrain from panic buying of petrol, diesel and LPG cylinders as such practices can lead to unnecessary disruption and mismanagement in the supply chain.He further said that the government has already invoked the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) to prevent misuse of essential commodities and warned that hoarding, black marketing or illegal stocking would invite strict legal action. The Deputy Commissioner also urged consumers to book LPG cylinders through missed call and complete their pending eKYC at their respective agencies to ensure uninterrupted supply.
