Blaming Nehru for everything that happened in the past is nothing but a dubious attempt to divide political leadership of that time which worked through their collective wisdom for India.

The #VandeMataram debate in parliament was not meant to listen to each other and appreciate even your opponent, as every member speak for his ‘own’ constituency and their speeches is made viral by their paid devotees on social media. At the moment, the idea seems to be through the debate in Parliament, #HindutvaNarrative is built prior to #Bengal Elections but many good things came out of the debate though we know the Lok Sabha would #expunge the ‘controversial’ remarks of the opposition parties while the blatant lies of the Manatris and ruling party loudspeakers will be retained. #BJP is working on these things ‘meticuously’ so that ‘distortical facts’ get ‘historical’ ‘legitimacy’ in the Parliamentary records.

The problem is not what they spoke for and against it. Any honest reader of Indian history knows these facts and dont feel necesity to speak on these things. Fact of the matter is every issue that BJP or Narerndra Modi speak today has already been debated in details in the Constituent Assembly and in the Congress session. Those were the times when #Nehru was not alone to decide everything but there was a big team under #Gandhi. Each leader was big including #SardarVallabhbhaiPatel and #SubhasChandraBose. They were not merely leaders who could sign on anything as suggested. Each of these leaders had huge mass following. There were many others. So the most important thing is that Nehru, Patel, Subhas might have differences but what is important is about the outcome of their ‘collective decisions’. Somewhere, Congress Party and others have failed to speak about these ‘collectivity’.

What #BJP is doing is keep blaming #JawaharlalNehru and claim the legacy of #IndianNationalCongress as BJP has nothing of its own. They think that by putting Nehru in the dock they can inherit the entire legacy of India’s freedom movement. So all their debates and understanding has to be seen in that perspective.

The entire issue of Nehru asking #BabariMasjid to be rebuilt by government fund is an outright lie and #RajnathSingh has only shown his spinelessness in this regard. Nehru had openly opposed the construction of #Somnathmandir from government funds and requested both #SardarPatel and #RajendraPrasad to participate in it as private citizens and both oblised. In every collective formulations, debate and arguments are part of the a democratic process but what is important is the outcome of it. We can understand that it is not the proccess today but still being part of a cabinet and a party is basically being part of the collective so if Nehru is responsible for the crimes during his tenure then how can those who are part of the cabinet be left without seeking their accountability.

I am against glorification of individuals but political leadership guide the nation. Nehru inherited a fragmanted India and scars of #partition was there and again Sardar Patel and Dr Ambedkar too were part of the entire process. So, kindly, do not say partition was done by Nehru only. #SyamaPrasadMukherjee too was part of the first cabinet of Jawahar Lal Nehru. They had differences but respect too.

#VandeMataram debate is well known. There are enough writing available about #anandmath and how the focus shifted from #British to #mughalempire. The novel was made politically suitable. Many in the #SanghParivar still dont have that much of issues with British Raj as their children enjoy luxury in the Western world. They feel that #India or #Hindus were real #Ghulam under the Mughals. This has been the history being taught in the Sangh Parivar. Put focus on the #Mughal history and seek accountability from #IndianMuslims all the time.

History is a complex issue. Any one can make it suitable to our own narrative, very much likes the big ‘datas’ being used by the ‘economists’ in favor or against the current economic policies. Actually, ‘intellectuals’ , media persons, academics, today are like ‘lawyers’ who speak as per the ‘agenda’ and ‘consultancy’ being provided to them. So, a person can take a ‘U turn’ of what he or she has spoken a few years back.

The point is why we want to rake up those issues which had been resolved long back. These were controversial issues but had collectively been resolved so that the nation learn from it and move ahead collectively. Now, those issues are deliberately to create divisions to suit the interest of those who were never part of our collective journey for freedom.

We have to see whether we would like such things to continue or move ahead. I agree with #PriyankaGandhi that government or BJP should have a three four days discussion on #Nehru in Parliament and may be outside parliament also to discuss his #rights and #wrongs. Let us finish this chapter once for all. We want to discuss the climate crisis, the smog in Delhi, our failed electoral system, our over crowded traffic, the crisis in the #aviation sector, our #Farmers and #employment. It would be good if BJP can relieve itself from #mandir #masjid, #hindu #muslim issues to real issues of the people. So, let us have a debate on all these issues in a special session of Parliament and move ahead. You cant become a powerful #ViksitBharat by abusing your freedom fighters and builders of the nation. #VandeMataram debate was nothing but a Hate Nehru agenda which people understand well. In Bengal, you will be fighting against #MamtaBanerjee who will actually speak of the legacy of #gurudev #RabindranathTagore and #NetajiSubhashChandraBose and both of them were part of collective vision under #gandhiji of which #Nehru and #SardarPatel were integral part. You can not discuss an isssue regarding India by dividing these great individuals who worked as a collective under #IndianNationalCongress for the rights of people of #India. India Today is the collective vision of these great people and we salute them for their spirit to work together despite hailing from diverse cultural background, keeping alla their individual differences aside in the greater interest of the well being of people of India.
