Balachaur (Asian independent) (Jatinderpal Singh kaler ) Baba Balraj Panjab University Constituent College (BBPUCC), Balachaur, successfully organised a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on November 11, 2025, in collaboration with Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh. The event was jointly organised by the Red Ribbon Club, Youth Club, and NSS Unit of the college. Alongside the camp, an awareness lecture on Women’s Health and Hygiene by NSS (Girls Unit) was also conducted to promote health consciousness among female students and staff. The blood donation camp aimed to inspire the spirit of social responsibility among students, faculty, and the local community by encouraging voluntary blood donation. The medical team from GMCH-32 carried out pre-donation screening, supervised the donation process, and provided post-donation care and donor certificates to all participants. A large number of students and staff members enthusiastically took part in the noble cause and contributing towards saving lives.
In addition to the blood donation drive, a special lecture on Women’s Health and Hygiene was delivered by medical professionals from Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh. The session focused on menstrual hygiene management, balanced nutrition, preventive healthcare practices, and the importance of regular medical checkups. Participants interacted actively with the experts, discussing issues related to reproductive health, anemia, and personal hygiene, making the session highly informative and engaging.
Principal Dr. Satish Kumar Dhiman appreciated the efforts of all organisers and volunteers, stating that such initiatives strengthen community engagement and instill humanitarian values in students. He further emphasized that “Voluntary blood donation and health awareness are acts of compassion that contribute to building a healthier and more responsible society.”
The event was coordinated by Ms. Nandini, Red Ribbon Club Nodal Officer and members Ms. Dakshi Jain, Mr. Satnam Singh, and Ms. Shiana Chaudhary alongwith dedicated efforts of Mr. Ramandeep Singh Nahar, Incharge, Co-Curricular Activities, Dr. Anjali Pathak and Dr. Hari Nath, NSS Programme Officers, and faculty members Ms. Gurdeep Kaur, Mr. Deepak, Dr. Harnam Singh, Ms. Ruby, Dr. Kamalpreet Kaur,Mr. Bijay Kumar Das, Mr. Raghav Jain, Dr. Harjinder Bharadwaj, Ms. Sandeep Kaur,Ms. Jagwinder Kaur, Ms. Kawaljot Kaur, and Ms. Swati who ensured the smooth execution of all activities and active participation of students.
The Red Ribbon Club, Youth Club and NSS units of BBPUCC thanked all blood donors, volunteers, and faculty members for their invaluable contribution in making the event a success.
