Foundation of His Sacred Majesty (FHSM) Health Project: Eye Screening Camp

FHSM conducted eye camps in Tamil Nadu (Ramanand District & Sivagangai District), Andhra Pradesh (Parvathipuram Manya District), Telangana (Mancherial District, Nirmal District & Nizamabad District), Karnataka (Bagalkot District and Belgaum District), and Madhya Pradesh (Indore District and Ujjain District). A total of 34 eye camps were conducted screening 5854 individuals out of which 2334 individuals were provided with free spectacles.
Since 2013, FHSM has been organizing eye camps in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. More than 203 camps were conducted in which 4267 individuals were supported with free cataract surgeries, 20227 were provided with free spectacles, and 80752 individuals availed eye screening services.
Emperor Ashoka’s policy on health care reflects one of the earliest examples of state-sponsored public health in world history, rooted in compassion and welfare for all beings. FHSM is inspired by emperor Ashoka’s vision depicted in the rock edicts and endeavours to carry the legacy with its limited resources.
