The Indian Workers Association (Great Britain) expresses its deep outrage and strongest condemnation following the shocking findings revealed by the BBC Panorama investigation into the Metropolitan Police.

A recent Panorama undercover investigation uncovered disturbing evidence of racism, Islamophobia, misogyny, and abuse of power within the UK’s largest police force. Secret filming captured officers mocking rape victims, making racist and anti-immigrant remarks, and boasting about violence against suspects. The footage exposes a toxic culture of discrimination and hate at the heart of British policing.

“These revelations are deeply disturbing — but sadly, not new for us. For decades, people from Sikh, Muslim, Hindu and other ethnic and religious minority communities have been raising their voices about injustice, humiliation, and abuse. This is not an isolated incident; this is a systemic failure.

It has been happening for too long, and it must stop. We demand that those responsible be punished to the fullest extent of the law. There must be no escape routes, no quiet resignations, and no early retirements. Justice must be visible and complete.
The suffering of our communities must end now. Empty apologies and short-term fixes will not rebuild trust — only truth, accountability, and reform will.”

The Indian Workers Association (G.B.) calls for:
A full, independent, and transparent public inquiry into the culture, training, and conduct of the Metropolitan Police.
Immediate dismissal and criminal prosecution of all officers proven to have engaged in racist, sexist, or violent acts.
Creation of an independent anti-racism and accountability authority with real oversight powers.
Review of all past cases investigated by implicated officers, to ensure justice for victims.
Formal apologies and compensation for those wronged or silenced by systemic bias.

The Association stands firmly with all victims of discrimination, violence, and injustice — regardless of faith or background.
“As Sikhs, Muslims, Hindus, and other minority communities, we have faced this pain for generations. The time for excuses is over. We say — no more. Justice must be done, and seen to be done.”
