Urges voters to fill and submit Enumeration Forms to ensure inclusion in draft electoral rolls; BLOs to remain available from 8 am to 3 pm
SBS Nagar, (Asian independent) (jatinder pal singh kaler ) Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Gulpreet Singh Aulakh, on Friday appealed to all eligible voters to participate in the two-day Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 camps being organised at every polling booth across the district on July 11 and 12. Sharing details, the Deputy Commissioner said that the special camps are being organised as part of the ongoing House-to-House Enumeration phase of SIR-2026, which commenced on June 25 and will continue till July 24. He informed that all Booth Level Officers (BLOs) would remain present at their respective polling stations from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on both days to facilitate electors in filling and submitting their Enumeration Forms.Mr. Aulakh said the camps have been planned to expedite the collection and digitisation of Enumeration Forms and to ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral rolls. He urged citizens who have not yet filled their forms to either contact their BLOs or visit the nearest polling booth during the special drive. The Deputy Commissioner further said that special emphasis would be laid on simultaneous collection and digitisation of forms in areas with low coverage, while BLOs who have already achieved substantial progress would focus on completing pending digitisation and addressing discrepancies. He further stated that to ensure maximum participation, adequate awareness is also being carried out through differrent awarenes campaigns. Staff from schools, revenue departments, urban local bodies and Anganwadi workers have also been deployed to assist the BLOs during the camps, he added. He reiterated that active public participation is essential for preparing accurate and inclusive electoral rolls in the district.
