Leicester, 14 July 2026 — The Indian Workers Association (Great Britain) (IWA (GB)) has condemned the brutal murder of 24-year-old Kirandeep Kaur in Hayes, West London, and has called on the Metropolitan Police to carry out a full, independent and transparent investigation into all possible motives, including whether racial or religious hatred played any part in the attack.

The organisation expressed its deepest condolences to Kirandeep Kaur’s family and said it shared the concern that every relevant line of enquiry must be thoroughly examined. The IWA (GB) noted that the victim’s family has urged the authorities to investigate whether racism was a motive and said those concerns deserve careful and impartial consideration.

Sital Singh Gill, General Secretary of the IWA (GB), said:

“We are deeply shocked and saddened by this tragic loss of life. We stand in solidarity with Kirandeep Kaur’s family and support their call for a thorough investigation into every possible motive behind this horrific crime. If the evidence establishes that racial or religious hatred was a factor, those responsible must face the full force of the law.”

The IWA (GB) said that racism, hate crime and all forms of violence have no place in a democratic and multicultural Britain. The organisation urged the police and prosecuting authorities to ensure that justice is delivered without fear or favour and appealed to all communities to remain united, reject hatred and pursue justice through peaceful and democratic means.
