“Such Incidents Undermine Peace and Communal Harmony”
Srinagar (Asian independent) Moulana Waseem Reza Kashmiri, a young religious scholar and political analyst based in Iran, has strongly condemned the alleged attack on a Jammu and Kashmir-registered passenger bus travelling from Delhi to Srinagar in Haryana, expressing concern over the safety of Kashmiris outside the valley. He described such incidents as detrimental to the country’s peace, integrity and communal harmony. The incident reportedly left an elderly passenger injured and others deeply traumatised. In a statement, Waseem Reza Kashmiri, an Alumni of Al-Mustafa International University in Iran, urged the Haryana Police to conduct a thorough investigation, take strict action against those involved, and establish the motives behind the attack. He said that at a critical time, when the enemy is attempting to foment internal unrest in the country, incidents of this nature undermine national security, peace and communal harmony. Targeting people on the basis of their religion or nationality is deeply regrettable, he added. Moulana Waseem Reza Kashmiri called on the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the concerned authorities to take serious note of such incidents, bring those responsible to justice, and take effective measures to ensure the safety and security of Kashmiris outside the J&K.
