Industry 4.0: The Future of Textile in India

 New Delhi: On 31 July 2018, Pahle India Foundation, a think tank in association with Yes Global Institute, Yes Bank organized a panel discussion at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Pahle India Foundation (PIF) is an FCRA certified not for profit policy think tank, established by Dr. Rajeev Kumar, an Indian economist and currently a vice-chairman of NITI Aayog, Government of India. Pahle India Foundation has been providing an advocacy platform in “Facilitating Policy Change”.

Panelists comprising of Shri Manu Kapoor, President and CEO, Home Textiles, GHCL, Shri Saravan P., Founder, Trustrace, Shri Yash Ranga, head – Sustainability, Jaipur Rugs Foundation, Shri Rahul Mishra, a fashion designer and Ms Gunja Kapoor, Fellow, Pahle India Foundation were invited to discuss various opportunities and challenges in the textile industry of India followed by question and answer session.

During the talk, all the expert panelists discussed various opportunities available in the textile industry in a digital India. Things are moving faster. According to Rahul Mishra, artisans from the villages of India are made aware of the use of technology in terms of design, pattern, and color. The software is developed. Shri Manu Kapoor talked about REKOOP and eco-friendly products.
