Nawanshehar (Asian independent) (Jatinderpal Singh Kaler): An impressive annual Chhinj Mela (traditional wrestling festival) was organised with great enthusiasm and fanfare at village Bagowal with the objective of promoting sports culture and strengthening community bonding. A large number of sports enthusiasts and prominent personalities from across the region attended the event.The atmosphere became particularly memorable when an old acquaintance, prominent businessman and Member of Parliament Surendra Nagar, a resident of Bulandshahr, met after several years, bringing back fond memories. The organisers and the entire village management committee were specially congratulated for making excellent arrangements for the event. On the occasion, AAP senior leader and Chairman of the Punjab Gujjar Welfare Board, Brigadier Raj Kumar, congratulated Ravi Inder Singh Bagowal and appreciated his initiative. He said that organising such a major event by the youth encourages youngsters to take up sports and conveys a positive message to society. Brigadier Raj Kumar also lauded the dedication of the organisers and local youth for keeping the traditional sporting culture alive and providing a platform for wrestlers to showcase their talent.
