The Constitution gives every citizen the right to peacefully protest and seek justice: Bunty, Raju, Rahul
Hoshiarpur, (Asian independent) (Tarsem Diwana) – In Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, a Dalit girl Lalita Gautam, who was first kidnapped by some miscreants and then raped and then murdered by pouring acid on her, has been accused of inhuman torture and lathi-charge by the Meerut Police and the current SSP of Meerut Police, Abhinash Pandey. Begampura Tiger Force’s Bunty Haryana President Halka Sham Churasi, Amrik Singh Raju, Rahul Kalota, Ravindra, Raman, Ishan have strongly condemned the incident. The leaders of the force described this incident as a blatant violation of democracy and fundamental rights of the Constitution. They said that in Meerut’s T.P. Nagar area, a woman from the SC community, Lalita Gautam, was murdered, whose body was recovered from the Rohta area on May 17. They said that when the victim’s family and people from the SC community were peacefully protesting for justice at the Collectorate, Meerut SSP Avinash Pandey openly slapped and misbehaved with the protesters. He said that in the videos that went viral on social media, it can be seen that the arrogant SSP Avinash Pandey of Meerut, who was also detained by the police, entered the vehicle and beat up the advocate Ravi Gautam badly, due to which the victim lawyer had to take the terrible step of trying to commit suicide (hanging himself) inside the van! He said that on one hand, while the police is registering cases against the protesters by falsely accusing them of “causing a traffic jam and disturbing the atmosphere”, on the other hand, instead of giving justice to the victims, they are trying to suppress their voice. The leaders of Begampura Tiger Force said that SSP Avinash Pandey, who raised his hand on the protesters and the lawyer, should be dismissed immediately and a case should be registered against him. They said that a high-level independent investigation should be conducted into the viral video so that the hooliganism of the police administration can be exposed. He said that the Constitution of the country gives every citizen the right to peacefully protest and seek justice. He said that the police should stop abusing their power to suppress the voice of common citizens and the Dalit community. Finally, the Begampura Tiger Force has warned that if the victim’s family does not get justice soon and strict action is not taken against the accused police officers including SSP Avinash Pandey, then the organization will launch a fierce struggle.
