Varitra Foundation’s Seventh Foundation Day: Celebration in the colours of education, music and women empowerment

Varitra Foundation celebrated its seventh foundation day with Holi Milan Samaroh with new and old colleagues associated with the foundation, leaders of education and social sector, and rural women empowerment. 9th March 2025 event was not only a celebration of Varitra’s journey, but also a holy occasion to give new energy to our resolve towards society.

On this occasion, Varitra Foundation’s board member and advisor Dr. Ramji Ji Lal (Retired Principal, Dayal Singh College) said, “The change that Varitra’s team has brought in the society through education is an inspiration for the new generation.”

At the same time, Karnal District Education Officer (DEO) Mrs. Sudesh Kumari ji praised the efforts of Varitra Foundation and said, “This campaign to spread the light of education in rural areas is a sign of true dedication.”

The team of renowned musician Shri Ishwar Sharma ji and Shri Hemant Sharma ji played an important role in making this program memorable. Their folk songs and music filled the atmosphere with energy. In between the songs, dance performances based on the themes “Holi Ke Rang” and “Shiksha Ki Alaakh” mesmerized everyone.

Sports competitions were also held in the Holi Milan Samaroh, in which girls and women from various villages participated enthusiastically. Ayeshna Kalyan, Director and Founder of Varitra Foundation said – “Many types of restrictions are imposed on the sports of girls and women in rural areas. After a certain age, girls almost stop playing. This has a great impact on their physical as well as mental development. In such a situation, Varitra Foundation has started a campaign that it will go from village to village and organize sports programs for girls and women.

Varitra Foundation has been working on the overall development, health and empowerment of children, especially girls, in rural areas for the last seven years. In these seven years, Varitra Foundation has worked with 12000+ students across 42 schools. More than 120 local youths have actively participated in this journey of Varitra Foundation.

Varitra Foundation’s second director Baljeet Yadav says, “Every step of our journey has been done with the trust of the society and the support of the people. Varitra Foundation gives the credit of the success of this festival to its donors, volunteers, and the local community. Varitra Foundation’s message – Let us all spread the colors of “education, culture and harmony” on this auspicious festival of Holi!
