Rae Bareli, In a bid to improve the media outreach of the UP Congress, party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has appointed Rajiv Tyagi as its media in-charge in Uttar Pradesh.
Tyagi is Congress’ national spokesperson and had worked in the party in various capacities. Tyagi was also assigned to handle the media in Mumbai in the just-concluded Maharashtra Assembly polls.
In Rae Bareli the UP Congress organised a three-day workshop where responsibility was assigned to the leaders.
The office bearers have been given responsibility of one district each with nobody being assigned a home district, said a source.
The Congress contested on 11 bypoll seats in UP but failed to open its account as it stood second in two seats.
Priyanka Gandhi said the party has improved its vote percentage, while alleging manipulation in Gangoh seat.
