Sharing a conversation with Mr Anthony Debbarma, General Secretary, Borok People’s Human Rights Organisation and Convener, Joint Action Committee of civil society in Tripura on the issue of indigenous people in Tripura and how have they been systematically marginalised in the state of Tripura, which is one of the very important states of India bordering with Bangladesh.

The sad part is that the issues of north Easterns State of India are not much discussed in mainstream India and Tripura is one state where the demographic profile of the state changed since it merged with India during our independence from the British rule. The indigenous people who were a majority and actually ruled the state till 1947 are now a minority and sidelined. On the occasion of World Indigenous People’s Day, we bring you this conversation of Vidya Bhushan Rawat with Mr Anthony Debbarma.
