Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar founded Samata Sainik Dal(SSD) on 13th March 1927 with the aim of preparing the people of the marginalized sections of the society to organize and fight for their fundamental rights.
Punjab unit of All India Samata Sainik Dal organized two days conference in Kurukshetra, Haranya. Shri Lahori Ram Balley, editor Bheem Patrika, Jalandhar spoke about the contemporary threat to the marginalized sections of the society from Hindutva ideology. The fear factor created by people of the present regime under the thump of RSS is polarizing the society. He also warned that the killings of the Dalits should be stopped and the government under Mr. Modi must take cognizance of such atrocities against the Dalits seriously and the culprits should be brought to the book. Shri Balley said, “Democracy and constitution are in danger” under Mr. Modi government. All the like-minded parties should join hands and save the constitution of India because it is the only constitution written by Dr. Ambedkar that has safeguarded the rights of Human Dignity, Equality for the people of the marginalized sections of the society. Before the adoption of the constitution, the Indian society was divided into four varnas by the Manusmriti, the shackles of slavery were cut by Dr. Ambedkar by making the constitution of India which guarantees human dignity for all human beings. Hence, it is a duty of Citizens of India to safeguard the constitution of India to protect and preserve democracy, he said.
Dr. Chahal, Associate Professor of Law at Kurukshetra University, ‘ there is an urgent need of ‘One Leader, One Party, and One programme’ to save the underprivileged people from the barbaric atrocities and restoration of the ideals of ‘Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity’, he, said. Mr. Subash Chander Musafar from Himachal Pradesh spoke about institutional superstition. He also said that Hindutva ideologues are propagating tomfoolery of Bhagwat Gita to mislead the people of India. “Their dream of making India a Hindu Country will never be fulfilled”, he said,
Dr. R.S Parveen Kumar, IPS, Secretary Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institution Society, Chief Guest at the function, acquainted the participants about the welfare programmes of the Telangana government for the boys and girls belonging to the underprivileged class. “Education is the only medium through which Dalits can uplift themselves socially and economically”, he said. He also said that today the Dalits need to deliberate on the education of their children. Quoting his own example, he said, he studied 12-16 hours in a day to become an IPS officer despite the poor financial condition of the family. He said the threat is enormous to the survival of the children of the marginalized sections in the 21st century when digitalization in every sector of the industry is taking place. In order to be fit into the notion of digitized India, Dalits need to work hard double to make them skilled to be eligible for government or private jobs.
Samata Sainik Dal demanded that all false cases against the Dalits should be dropped. Dal also demanded that the taxpayer money spent by the Haryana government on the celebration of International Gita Mahotsav should be claimed from the state government by the Honorable Supreme Court because the state government has violated the constitution of India.
Thousands of delegates and participants from Haryana and other states of India attended this two-day conference. A souvenir was also released on this occasion. Baldev Raj Bhardwaj, Varinder Kumar, and J Wariana from Jalandhar unit and active members of Haryana Units of AISD took a lead to organise this two-day conference.
