Two-Day Youth Socialist Convention to be Held in Delhi

(Asian independent)  On the historic occasion of the 90th anniversary of India’s socialist movement, the Youth Socialist Initiative is organizing a two-day Youth Socialist Convention in Delhi from October 31 (Acharya Narendra Deva’s Birth Anniversary) to November 1, 2025. The convention will be held at Rajendra Bhawan (opposite Gandhi Peace Foundation), Deendayal Upadhyay Marg, New Delhi – 110002, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Young socialist comrades from almost all states of the country are arriving in Delhi to participate in this convention. Youth from other streams associated with transformative politics will also take part in the convention. The convention will be inaugurated by Dr. Abhijit Vaidya, former National President of the Socialist Yuvjan Sabha (SYS). It will be presided over by Professor Anil Mishra, a political scientist and former faculty at Delhi University. Following the inaugural session, resolutions prepared by expert scholars on education policy, health policy, employment policy, economic policy, agriculture policy, development policy, environmental policy, and cultural policy will be discussed in various sessions from a socialist and constitutional perspective.In light of these resolutions, the Youth Socialist Initiative will organize ideological and action programs among youth across the country for the next 10 years, until the 100th anniversary of the Indian socialist movement. The aim of this campaign would be building a decisive public opinion in favour of socialist, constitutional policies, as opposed to the current corporate-communal political nexus and neoliberal policies imposed by this very nexus.Several senior socialist activists/intellectuals, trade union leaders, student leaders, journalists, teachers, advocates, cultural activists, and literary figures will be present at the convention along with the concerned citizens.Following the convention on October 31st, a poetry meet will be held from 6 pm onwards under the aegis of ‘Sahitya Varta’ and ‘Lohia Vichar Vedi’. Senior poet Girdhar Rathi will preside over the poetry session. The Base Paper of the convention is attached for the intimation.
