Twitterati lend support to pro-CAA rally in Mumbai

Mumbai: Protesters take to streets as they stage a demonstration against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019 and National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Mumbai

Mumbai,  As a large number of people gathered at the historic August Kranti Maidan here on Friday to hold a peaceful rally in support of the CAA, the Twitterati lent support to the participants on the social platform.

The rally was organised by BJP’s Sanvidan Sanman Manch, wherein people shouting slogans carried national flags along with placards with pro-CAA and NRC messages.

#MumbaiSupportsCAA trended on Twitter with 6,543 tweets.

Former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis wrote: “Reached August Kranti Maidan and joined the massive gathering of citizens to support the #CitizenshipAmendmentAct!”

Another party leader Shaina NC tweeted pictures from the rally and wrote: “Rally to support #CAA, at August Kranti Ground to Girgaon Chowpatty. Let’s show our support to @narendramodi ji’s noble cause to resettle refugees from neighbouring countries.”

One user posted pictures from the rally and wrote: “Massive crowd at August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai in support of CAA. The common man is with PM @narendramodi ji and HM @AmitShah ji.”

One tweet read: “Modi Modi Modi Modi in today’s peaceful rally in support of CAA.”

“Looks like a massive rally in Mumbai to show support for CAA. Pure peaceful & non-violent rally in Surat, Baroda, Ahmedabad, Delhi and now in Mumbai,” read another tweet.
