THE INAUGURATION OF DRUSHTI EYE PROJECT IN CHENNAI

REPORT ON THE INAUGURATION OF DRUSHTI EYE PROJECT IN CHENNAI

Venue – National Institute of Siddha, Chennai

The Foundation of His Sacred Majesty (FHSM) officially inaugurated the Drushti Eye Project on the 11th of November 2025 at the National Institute of Siddha, Chennai, in partnership with Aggarwal Eye Hospital and All Cargo Terminals Limited. The project aims to provide free eye camps, free spectacles and free cataract surgeries for individuals representing disadvantaged communities in Chennai. During the inaugural camp, 398 beneficiaries—both men and women from the local community—were screened and provided support for 20 free Cataract Surgeries, and 135 free Spectacles Distributed: 135 to the most needy.

The program commenced with the distinguished guests:
• Prof. Dr. Bhanumati, Former Director National Institute of Siddha
• Prof. Dr. G. Senthilvel, Director National Institute of Siddha (Chief Guest)
• Dr. Radhika Mahadevan, Hospital Superintendent
• Prof. Dr. Christian, Dean of Research
• Mr. M. Murugan and Mr. Somasundaram, Hospital Administrators
* Mr. Lokesh, HR Manager, Allcargo Terminals Limited

The camp was officially inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Bhanumati, Former Director of the Institution, who also addressed the gathering. She appreciated the humanitarian vision behind the Drushti Project which makes quality eye care accessible to the poor. Special thanks to Mr. Ajayan Babu, Ms. Manipriya, and Mr. Manibalan for organising the program and facilitating from the beginning until the end.
