Suicide blast near Afghan military training centre kills 6

KABUL, May 30, 2019 (Xinhua) -- Members of Afghan security forces stand guard outside Marshal Fahim National Defense University which was attacked by a suicide car bomb on May 30, 2019. At least seven people, including an assailant, were killed and six others wounded after a suicide car bomb blast struck outside a military university in western side of Afghan capital Kabul on Thursday, Afghan Ministry of Interior Affairs confirmed.

Kabul,  At least six people were killed and six others wounded in a suicide blast outside a military training centre in the Afghan capital on Thursday, officials said.

“A suicide bomb blast occurred at a street in front of Marshal Fahim National Defence University in Police District 5. The initial information found six people were killed and six others wounded,” the Afghan Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a statement.

The blast occurred when cadets were leaving the building, Xinhua news agency reported.

Security forces cordoned off the area for precautionary measures.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
