Sri Lankan President appoints 7 new non-cabinet ministers

Colombo,   Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena appointed seven new non-cabinet ministers which included two new state ministers and five new deputy ministers, it was announced on Tuesday.

Ruling United National Party (UNP) MP Ranjth Aluwihare was sworn in as state minister of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs while UNP legislator Lucky Jayawardena was sworn in as state minister of Hill Country, New Villages Infrastructure and Community Development.

UNP legislator Ajth Mannapperuma was sworn in as Deputy Minister of Environment while Angajan Ramanathan of United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) was sworn in as Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Xinhua news agency reported.

K. Kader Masthan of the UPFA was sworn in as Deputy Minister of Resettlement, Rehabilitation, Northern Development and Hindu Religious Affairs while Edward Gunasekara was sworn in as Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Wayamba Development.

Nalin Bandara of the UNP was sworn in as Deputy Minister of Public Administration and Management, Law and Order.
