Participated in a thought provoking discussion on the draft bill which the government proposed to bring in the Monsoon session of Parliament named as Higher Education Commission of India that will replace University Grants Commission, at the Institute of Objective Studies. The deadline to send your comments to the Ministry of HRD is 7th August, 2018. I will write on it in details soon but one request to all those who are going to be directly affected namely Universities, teaching and students fraternity to ask for the extension of deadline as this draft must be widely discussed at all level in the Universities, colleges and other academic institutions. Secondly, frankly speaking, the government does not want a discussion on it sabit has already decided to bring private universities. Modi want to destroy every institution of repute as that will pave way for privatisation of education at higher level which will be impossible for poor students particularly for SC ST OBC and minorities.

I am appealing to all political leaders of different political parties, education ministers of states , student unions, teachers associations to see the grand designs behind it. In broader sense, it will be like planning commission becoming Neeti Ayog. It will have power to derecognise a university if that does not follow the guidelines and maintain the standard. All it looks well in a poorly drafted bill but fact is there is not a single mention of SC ST OBCs as well as minorities suggest open agenda to finish reservation for these segment.

Is this the most lethal and dangerous assault of brahmanical forces on India’s Bahujan Samaj? I feel , yes. Will the political class that talks of inclusive education stand up and speak unambiguously on the issue. Time is short. Netas please don’t betray your future generations. Speak loudly and make your voice hear.
