(Asian independent)  The Bhumi Adhikar Andolan stands in firm and militant solidarity with the Central Trade Unions as they rise against the NDA government’s ruthless, anti-people, pro-corporate governance model.

We reiterate clearly and unequivocally:

The labour codes are a deceptive fraud committed against the working people of the nation. Packaged as “reforms”, these codes are a direct assault on workers’ rights, wages, safety, social security and collective bargaining. They are designed to legally formalise exploitation and hand over India’s labour force to corporate interests.

This attack on workers is part of a much larger project, the corporate takeover of land, forests, commons and natural resources. From forced evictions in Adivasi areas to undermining the Forest Rights Act, from land acquisition through coercive digitisation to opening mines and forests for private corporations, the NDA government has consistently marched against the people and in favour of billionaire cronies.

BAA stands firmly with the CTUs in resisting this assault, and we assert that workers’ rights, forest rights and land rights are one united struggle.

Key Demands We Endorse and Add Our Voice To:

  • Repeal the four Labour Codes immediately. Build a real labour law framework that guarantees minimum wages, job security and dignity under workers’ leadership.
  • Strict implementation of minimum wages and the Factory Act across all institutions, with monitoring involving all trade unions.
  • Stop app-based exploitation and outcome-based schemes. End the gig-economy model that treats workers as disposable. Guarantee equal wages for women workers and end contract, temporary and outsourcing-driven appointments used to suppress reservations for SC/ST/OBC communities.
  • Ensure the rights of informal, domestic and migrant workers. Implement codes that secure job protection and worker rights in domestic work, schools, informal sectors, and service occupations.
  • Fulfil the written assurances to farmers under the MSP Act (2021). Stop violating the Forest Rights Act; ensure fair compensation to FRA-affected communities and guarantee at least 200 days of employment under MGNREGA with significantly raised wages.
  • No demolitions without rehabilitation. Stop uprooting working-class families under the guise of “development”.
  • Withdraw the Electricity Bill 2025 and foreign smart meter policies that burden households and small establishments.
  • Repeal draconian laws like UAPA and NIA-type provisions that criminalise dissent and allow the State to fabricate cases to silence democratic voices.

The NDA government has attacked workers, farmers, forest dwellers, and all marginalised communities through one coordinated strategy, corporatise everything, silence everyone who resists.

Bhumi Adhikar Andolan calls upon all movements, labour unions, kisan unions, Adivasi organisations, forest rights groups, women’s collectives, youth and student movements, to unite in a common front.

Reject corporate capture of our labour, land and forests.

Reclaim democratic space from authoritarian laws.

Resist the destruction of livelihoods, rights, and the constitutional fabric of India.

Together, we will defend the rights of India’s workers and peasants, and fight for a nation where dignity, justice and sovereignty belong to the people, not corporations.

 In solidarity and struggle,

Bhumi Adhikar Andolan
