Leicester (England) (Asian independent) Sukhjinder Singh Dhadde – A 14-year-old boy’s life was saved in Buckinghamshire, England, after an eye examination revealed signs of a brain tumour during what initially appeared to be a routine vision check. According to reports, the boy, Joshua Rossiter, had been experiencing blurred vision for about a week. Concerned by the sudden change in his eyesight, his parents arranged an appointment with an eye specialist in Gerrards Cross to have his eyes examined. During the eye test, Sikh eye specialist Dr Hardeep Kalsi carefully examined the boy’s eyes and noticed unusual signs inside the eye that raised concern. She advised the family to return for further tests a few days later so the condition could be investigated more thoroughly. After conducting additional examinations, Dr Kalsi suspected a more serious underlying problem and immediately referred the boy to hospital specialists for urgent assessment. Detailed medical tests and scans at the hospital later confirmed that Joshua had a brain tumour. Because the problem was detected at an early stage, doctors were able to begin treatment quickly, preventing the condition from becoming life-threatening. Joshua’s parents expressed their gratitude to Dr Hardeep Kalsi and her medical team, saying they had initially believed their son was suffering only from a minor eyesight problem. However, the doctor’s attentiveness and quick action led to the discovery of the tumour and ultimately saved their son’s life. They said that if the issue had not been identified in time, the situation could have become extremely serious. Speaking about the case, Dr Hardeep Kalsi said that people should seek an eye examination immediately if they notice sudden changes in their vision. She explained that eye tests do not only detect eyesight problems but can also reveal warning signs of serious medical conditions, including diseases affecting the brain. Eye care professionals have also advised the public to undergo regular eye examinations, as such checks can sometimes detect serious illnesses at an early stage, making treatment more effective. The incident has once again highlighted the importance of routine eye tests, which can help identify potentially life-threatening conditions before they become critical. Dr Hardeep Kalsi’s actions have been widely praised by members of different communities for her professionalism and timely intervention.
