SEVA Trust UK (India) launched ‘Healthy Children, Healthy Communities’ Project in Punjab & distributed personal hygiene & immune booster kits to over 1500 children from low-income families

SEVA Trust UK (India)(Asian independent) , a registered public charitable trust in India working in Punjab and Haryana states on Education, Health, Public-Welfare and Environment, launched a new initiative ‘Healthy Children, Healthy Communities’ in Punjab. This initiative is launched to support ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ (commemoration of 75 years of independence) ensuring rural children from disadvantaged and low income families are benefited.

This project was initiated from Pakhowal block in Ludhiana district.  Under this program SEVA Trust  Team supported by Dabur Ltd organised various programmes in 7 different rural Govt. schools including Govt. Primary School, Pakhowal,Govt. Girls High School Pakhowal,  Govt. High School & Govt Primary School Brahmpur, Govt Primary & Senior Secondary Schools, Barundi in Ludhiana District.

SEVA Trust Team lead by Baljinder Singh Grewal and supported by Amandip Singh Pakhowal, Gurdeep Singh Pannu, Rashpal Singh & retired headmaster Narinder Singh Sekhon organised various educational talks on health, personal hygiene, Covid safety and career development for disadvantaged children and motivated them to work hard to shape their future career through education. SEVA Trust volunteers distributed personal hygiene & immune booster kits and healthy eatable products and daily essentials including honey, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo etc. to over 1500 students all students of these Govt. Schools who belong to low-income famailes.

On this occasion Mr Grewal said’ Our NGO is already running this project very successfully in Haryana lead by our chairman Mr Naresh Mittal, where we have supported over 5000 children already and we are pleased to launch this project from Pakhowal Block this week. We are aiming to reach-out to at least 10, 000 students and 5,000 people from low income families in the next few months. The school heads & staff members thanked SEVA team for helping the needy students. Principle of Senior School Barundi Mrs Parminder Gill siad ‘Majority of the children studying in the rural Govt. schools are from low-income families and the additional support SEVA Trust has been giving in the past few years has helped a lot of children and we hope more NGOs can come forward to help our schools and children. SEVA Trust has donated 3 projectors to our school, installed solar power system in the Primary School and already supported over 500 children in this area. They been doing an excellent  work and I would like to thank SEVA Trust  for their great work.”
