New Delhi (Asian Independent)- As the planet celebrates the International Youth Day, launched by the United Nations 22 years ago, the Russian Embassy in cooperation with Yasnaya Polyana Museum Estate and “BRICS. The World of Traditions” Foundation (Moscow) handed over a series of fiction books in Russian and English by Leo Tolstoy to Delhi Public School Dwarka students studying Russian language.
As commented by Mrs Sunita Tanwar, DPS Dwarka Principal, this gift is an important contribution to nurture the thrust for knowledge of the school children after more than a year of heightened pandemic restrictions. She stressed that the correspondence of Leo Tolstoy and Mahatma Gandhi is one of the most important cultural links between Russia and India.
During the conversation with the Russian diplomats, DPS plans to resume traditional trips to meet their friends from Rabindranath Tagore School in Saint Petersburg were discussed.
