Sacrifices of martyrs a source of inspiration to keep the unity and integrity further strong

Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, (Asian independent) (Jatinderpal Singh kaler ) Paying rich tributes to martyrs of Punjab Police and other forces to mark Police Commemoration Day here at local ITI Ground, Ludhiana Range DIG Satinder Singh said that the supreme sacrifices of the martyred officers and soldiers could never be overlooked as these are a golden history to further strengthen the unity and integrity of the country.
Accompanied by the family members of the police martyrs, DIG Satinder Singh said that it is a matter of great pride for the Punjab Police that hundreds of officials laid down their lives to safeguard the country, which would be ever remain a source of inspiration for the entire force instilling the spirit of nationalism and patriotism. These sacrifices would bolster the spirit of maintaining law & order in the force. He said that the flame lit by the martyrs to keep the country and state safeguard from internal and external aggression would be kept burning, said the DIG adding that those indulged in nefarious designs to disrupt hard earned peace would be dealt with heavy hand.
DIG Satinder Singh said that the Police Commemoration Day was annually observed on October 21 to pay tributes to the sacrifices of the officers and soldiers of the police and central forces. On this day in 1959, at a place named Hot Spring in Ladakh, a CRPF patrolling party led by Sub-Inspector Karam Singh was ambushed by Chinese troops and 10 soldiers were martyred. He said that everyone should take this resolve to always maintain the honor, dignity, and pride of the country and the pride of the Punjab Police. He said that the Punjab Police is a brave and courageous force which, by showing courage and valour have succeeded in every task & challenge including terrorism. DIG. Dr. Mehtab Singh, Additional Sessions Judge Baljinder Singh Mann and other officers paid tribute to the martyrs along with their family members. The family members were also honoured while the DIG listened to their issues as well as assuring for appropriate redressal.
Earlier, DSP Raj Kumar read out the names of the officers and jawans of the forces of various states of the country remembering their sacrifices. The family members of the martyrs Paramjit Kaur, Harvinder Singh, Balwant Kaur, Gurmej Kaur, Surjit Kaur, Kamaljit Kaur, Gurmej Kaur, Amandeep Singh, Kamlesh Rani, Shakuntala Devi, Subhash Chander, Monica Sharma, Dharampal Bains, Gurmeet Kaur, Sukhwinder Kaur, Surjit Kaur, Gurdial Singh, Minder Kaur, Gurmeet Ram, Ajay, Gurbaksh Singh, Bhagwant Singh and Resham Kaur were honored. On this occasion, SP Headquarters Iqbal Singh, SP (Investigation) Sarabjit Singh Bahia, SP (PBI) Jashandeep Singh Gill, Parade Commander Jaspreet Singh and senior police officers were present.
