Bhubaneswar, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday announced the setting up of a medical college and hospital in Phulbani in the state’s Kandhamal district.
“I am happy to announce that a government medical college and hospital would be set up at district headquarters hospital, Phulbani. The number of beds would be increased to 500 for the aforesaid purpose and a composite campus would be planned,” said the Chief Minister.
Patnaik also announced a new 200-bed district hospital in Boudh, an additional building with 100 beds in Nayagarh district hospital and a new building with 100 beds in Kalahandi district hospital.
The Chief Minister informed that the Mo Sarkar initiative will be extended to all departments by March 2020.
“Let me assure the people of Odisha that Mo Sarkar as an empowerment initiative will be further strengthened. It will be extended to five more Departments by December 1, and by March 2020, Mo Sarkar will cover all Departments of the Government,” he said.
Under the Mo Sarkar initiative, the Chief Minister and ministers call the citizens to seek their feedback on the kind of response and service they received during their visit to the government hospitals and police stations.
