(Asian independent) Over the weekend, the annual community and volunteer appreciation BBQ, organized by Brampton-South MP Sonia Sidhu, saw a strong turnout from community members. People of all ages, from families to seniors to kids, enjoyed a delightful afternoon filled with delicious food, talented face painters, and mesmerizing magicians. The festivities carried on throughout the afternoon with a diverse range of entertainment, such as rhythmic African drumming and traditional Chinese dance. There were also many other captivating performances to enjoy. Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to learn about diabetes and access various services and medications provided by the Canadian government. Sonia Sidhu’s diabetes bill successfully passed the Canadian parliament.

We organized this barbeque to provide Bramptonians with an opportunity to connect and engage with their Members of Parliament. Attendees had the opportunity to enjoy complimentary food, entertainment, and family-friendly activities. In attendance were Brampton North’s MP Ruby Sahota, MP Shafqat Ali Brampton Center, Maninder Sidhu MP Brampton East, and Paul Vicente, councillor of Brampton. Brampton mayor Patrick Brown, numerous community leaders, and school trustees were present.

The collaborative and joint efforts of the five Brampton Members of Parliament are receiving tremendous focus as they work together to provide a united voice for Brampton in Ottawa.

MP Sidhu expressed her sincere appreciation for the community’s ongoing support and highlighted the importance of such gatherings in building strong relationships with neighbors. She expressed that the Annual Community Barbeque goes beyond being just an event. It serves as a platform for our diverse community to unite and commemorate our shared values, cultures, and aspirations. “It’s a time to come together, interact, and create a more united Brampton South.”

The annual Brampton South Barbeque once again demonstrates the strength of the community. MP Sidhu expresses gratitude to all attendees, stakeholders, and community leaders for their steadfast support and eagerly anticipates ongoing collaboration to foster a more resilient and interconnected city.

Sidhu enthusiastically exclaimed, “It was an incredible day, an absolute triumph!” “The weather was definitely on our side, resulting in a delightful gathering of both adults and children. Everyone had a wonderful time!”
