(Asian Independent)- Shree Mohan Lal Garewal also known as Mohan Lal Badalvi has left us on 10th June 2021. He was a lion hearted individual who stood in protection of those who even today in England are being discriminated as to their caste.
His father late Pandit Bakshi Ram was a highly respected figure in Punjab and was included in the list of 25th Independence day celebration of India by late Mrs Indra Gandhi. In 1992 he was also presented with BHARAT RATTAN BABA SAHIB DR AMBEDKAR NATIONAL AWARD by Bhartiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi for his prolific work for the trodden down Dalits.
The caste difference has been magnified in such a way that it automatically spread’s hatred against the lower castes. This practise is active in Britain so for the Caste Act was voiced because it is the tool the higher castes have used for centuries to show that they are better than the others via birth.
Hindu propaganda has misled the world and is still doing the same. There are millions who do not have any knowledge to development of India through ancient times but still take hatred against the lower castes on board after listening to such discriminatory propaganda.
A simplified explanation between the higher caste and the lower caste would be that the higher castes have entered India and the lower castes are the inhabitants of India. Through hatred and caste difference the higher castes have managed to maintain supremacy in India.
Through Pandit Bakshi Ram Ji’s hard research and discovery of Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa (the ancient cities) by Sir Mortimer Wheeler in 1920; it has come to light that there are misconceptions recorded against the Natives of India in the Aryan literature.
Late Mohan Lal Badalvi was a very knowledgeable person so he challenged and debated the issues on this inhumane practise. He fought for the credibility of the lower castes because even today in Britain are being looked down by those who regard themselves as upper castes.
Between 1950 and 1960, a small number of the work force (labourers) from India, Pakistan, West Indies and Singapore arrived in England but a big surge came in between 1960 and 1970. This also included a big number of the Asians coming from East Africa.
They were employed in the brickyards, factories, foundries and cotton mills. Mostly unskilled labour arrived here so they were used as required. Even though the Indians were doing the same work but some of them as to their birth regarded themselves to be better than the others.
Mohan Lal Garewal arrived in Birmingham in the year 1963. He started his employment as a labourer in a factory but as he was a well educated person he soon changed to clerical duties.
His father Pandit Bakshi Ram was a close associate of Subash Chander Bose and Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar. Because of his father’s popularity in India, he soon became a highly recognised figure in Britain.
After noticing this, he started opposing the issues those he felt were discriminatory towards the lower castes. He arranged demonstrations and also joined in the demonstrations those were against caste and racial discrimination.
HE WILL BE REMEBERED FOR THE GOODNESS HE HAS DONE FOR ALL. HE BELIEVED IN HUMANITY SO HE FOUGHT AGAINT THOSE WHO PROMOTED CASTE OR RACIAL DIFFERENCE IN SOCIETY.
It is a loss that cannot be weighed. The ways of Almighty are strange but we must bow to his will.
We pray to God to rest Mohan Lal Ji’s soul in peace.
Jai Bharat.
