Washington/New Delhi,  A 57-second video clipping posted on Twitter on Monday by the First Lady of the US, Melania Trump, evoked mixed response from the Twitterati.

The clipping posted by US President Donald Trump’s wife showed her walking through a maze of Christmas trees decorated with lighting, tinsel, bobbles and American flags etc., while the room was decorated with red roses and a decorated cardboard replica of the White House.

Melania Trump posted the clipping on @FLOTUS and wrote: “The Spirit of America is shining in the @WhiteHouse! I am delighted to share this beautiful exhibit of patriotism for all to see, and excited for everyone to experience the beauty of the #Christmas season!”

The post garnered 19.2K retweets, 69.7K likes and 659.9 views. One user described the decorations as awesome.

Another tagged Melania and the White House and posted: “I am so proud of the people’s house Mrs. Melania Trump. You have done a great job of getting all the decorators together from all over our country to do such an exquisite job. You never fail the people. I appreciate you and all of your gifts that you share with us. God bless you.”

Another fan praised the decorations: “It’s stunning, the red-and-white theme is just beautiful. Thank you so much for all you do, your loving nature is always present and we feel it, we appreciate you. Thank you for being the best First Lady ever and for your husband, best POTUS ever.”

“Wow, I wish I could personally see the wonderful wonderland you have created yet again! Just magical and amazing! Thank you for the wonderful job! You are truly a wonderful flotus every day not only at Christmas! Thank you,” another user remarked.

One user was clearly not amused. “How much taxpayer money is spent on these videos? Seriously, as someone who understands the cost of the production of these (lights, cameras, crew, editing)… and wondering the necessity of them… what is it costing the #AmericanTaxpayerWaste.”

Another Twitter post read: “Flaunting herself through the white! How obscene! Where is the child to enjoy the splendour! She did nothing or bought nothing and treasured nothing… there are no traditions or family or anything to do with the birth of Christ in these pictures! She is just acting and showing.”
