Bhopal, (Asian independent) The Madhya Pradesh Congress will launch ‘Jan Akrosh’ yatras from seven different places on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi on September 19, a top party leader said on Saturday.
These yatras will cover a total 11,400 km across 230 assembly constituencies in a fortnight, Congress general secretary in-charge for Madhya Pradesh Randeep Surjewala said on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference along with state Congress chief Kamal Nath and others, Surjewala said: “Jan Aakrosh rallies would be launched to give voice to people’s anger against the BJP government.”
Surjewala said that people are extremely angry at the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP government that has been in power for more than 18 years.
“The main reasons for this anger are the decreased income and firing on farmers, Vyapam and Patwari recruitment scams, cancellation of housing rights allotments, corruption in of the Ayushman health scheme and distribution of school uniforms and food. The incident in which a BJP leader insulted tribals by urinating on them has also caused public outrage,” Surjewala said.
He further stated that the people of Madhya Pradesh are annoyed with rampant corruption in the BJP government.
Surjewala also hit out at the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP government for highlighting the poor law and order situation in Madhya Pradesh.
He said that more than 58,000 incidents of rape and 67,000 instances of abduction were reported during the 18 years of BJP rule in Madhya Pradesh.
“I have full faith on people of Madhya Pradesh that they will support the truth. People are not blind as they are the victim of corruption in BJP government,” Kamal Nath said.
