*Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar,   (Asian independent)  (jatinder pal singh kaler )  Lok Sabha Member from Sri Anandpur Sahib, Malwinder Singh Kang on Friday reviewed the progress of various ongoing development projects and welfare schemes in the district.  He directed officials to expedite the pace of work and ensure completion within the stipulated timelines. Presiding over the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting held at the district administrative complex, the MP took stock of nearly 35 different programs, encompassing a range of development works and public welfare schemes. Engaging in detailed discussions with officials on central and state government schemes, Kang stressed that no delays must occur in their implementation. He underscored the importance of ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach every eligible beneficiary. The meeting was attended by MLAs Dr. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhi and Dr. Nachhattar Pal, Deputy Commissioner Ankurjit Singh, SSP Tushar Gupta, and other senior officials. The MP reviewed fund allocations under various projects and schemes, progress to date, and recently completed works. He instructed that MPLAD funds be utilized promptly and utilization certificates submitted to the relevant authorities without delay. He also assessed initiatives for providing drinking water in rural areas, including the installation of new tubewells. In the health sector, he reviewed programs such as Janani Suraksha Yojana, Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram, Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Program, and measures to prevent water-borne diseases. Additionally, the MP evaluated progress under Swachh Bharat Mission (including Open Defecation Free villages) and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. He directed officials to raise maximum public awareness about the National Social Assistance Program, covering old age, widow, disabled, and family benefit pensions, to better facilitate beneficiaries. During the session, Kang also reviewed the National Food Security Act and Smart Ration Card Scheme, besides discussing advancements under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana, and other flagship programs. He urged officials to guarantee that all projects are executed without any procrastination and completed on schedule. On this occasion, Punjab State Industrial Training Board Deputy Chairman Lalit Mohan Pathak, Punjab State Water Resources Management Vice Chairman Kuljit Sarhal, District Planning Committee Chairman Satnam Singh Jalalpur, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Balbir Raj Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Avneet Kaur, SDM Nawanshahr Anmajyot Kaur, SDM Balachaur Kritika Goyal, SDM Banga Vipin Bhandari, Market Committee Chairman Gagan Agnihotri, along with senior civil and police officials were present.
