Bengaluru: Women participate in a protest rally against the CAA and NRC at Tannery Road, in Bengaluru

Bengaluru,  A case has been filed in Karnataka’s Bidar against the management of Shaheen Group of Institutions for making its school children enact an anti-NRC skit, in which they abused Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a police official said on Wednesday.

“According to a complaint given by Neleesh Rakshyal, the school children performed a drama through which they abused the constitutional authorities in filthy language,” Bidar Superintendent of Police T. Sreedhara told IANS.

In the anti-National Register of Citizens (NRC) drama, Sreedhara said the children abusive language against Modi, said that Muslims are being thrown out of India and openly called for the defiance of rules.

According to the official, the children said: “If anybody comes asking for documents, beat them with the slippers.”

The complainant submitted the video footage of the drama which went viral, on whose basis, the police registered a case in Bidar’s new town police station under the various sections of the Indian Penal Code

The Superintendent of Police said that the video has very much confirmed the issues pointed out by the complainant.

“We have taken up the investigation. We are examining the children who played the drama,” said Sreedhara.

Six children who acted in the play were below 10 years of age, and examined by police in the presence of the school teachers and their parents.

Sreedhara said the school management was involved in the production of the drama, which was practiced for 10 days.

As most of the people responsible for producing the play are absconding, police said no arrests were made so far.

With its head office at Shaheen Nagar in Bidar and managed by the Allama Iqbal Educational Society, the Shaheen Group of Institutions runs a string of institutes from kindergarten to undergraduation.
