Tories wiped out with Liz Truss, Penny Mordaunt, Jacob Rees-Mogg, Grant Shapps among senior Conservatives to lose seats.
Rishi Sunak is set to announce his departure as prime minister in a concession speech outside Downing Street and then he will travel to the palace for formally tender his resignation to King Charles.
After that, Keir Starmer will attend the palace, where the king will ask him to form the next government.
