Since 2014, nothing positive is happening inside the campus of a prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU). It is a known fact that JNU is well known for producing IAS,IPS and IFS who have the best brain to run the country in a progressive manner. There is a long list of such high calibre officers who earned their place in the Indian bureaucracy. Today, we have among us the Finance Minister of India and the External Affairs Minister who studied from JNU. Both are important people in the country. Not only this, noble prize winner Abhijit Banerjee is JNU alumnus. JNU has been named the first Indian university to make  the top 100 globally. This voluminous achievements did not happen not overnight. Outstanding contributions by the best brains of JNU has laboriously earned this international credentials.

If JNU has such outstanding academic capacity to produce such high profile people in India then what went wrong in the university. This needs to be examined thoroughly.

The left student unions (JNUSU) is holding all the power in their hands with the support of other student organizations including SFI, DSF, AISA, & AISF. These students organizations draw their political, legal support from left wing political parties including Congress party. The leaders of the left students union believe in democracy and they want that JNU must provide subsidized education to the poor students who come from rural areas. The leaders of left student union promote the social and political philosophy of Dr BR Ambedkar, Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin, Che Guevara so and so on. The leaders of left students union celebrate their birth anniversary and teach their philosophy to others. The JNUSU students believe in the constitution of India. A large number of JNU teachers before 2014(now scared) were promoting the philosophy of these Indian and foreign socialists and revolutionaries through books, monographs and articles.

Due to majority of the left student union in JNU the administration never dared to go against their decision such as hostel, examination fee hike etc. All matters relating to the problems of students were amicably resolved over round table discussion it  is, therefore, no violence inside the campus took place ever barring few scuffles between students and officials. Students belonging to all castes used to study in the classroom without fear of identity. Barring few cases of caste discrimination in the case of SC/ST students, JNU is known for equality and fraternity. JNU is also popular space for debates, discussions and dialogues. All schools in the campus invite scholars from the world and sit and discuss to find solution to the world problems and also recommend policy to the government for the welfare of the citizens. This has been a tradition of JNU since centuries.

New Delhi: Professors of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) during a demonstration at JMI, in New Delhi on Jan 8, 2020.

What happened after 2014. The Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) with Hindutva agenda in hand came to power with a thumping majority at the center. A few activists of Akhil Bahartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) leaders found themselves so powerful with the economic and political support of the BJP/RSS from behind that they started indulging in all sorts of violent activities in the campus to dilute the power of the leaders of left students union. Here, the role of the Vice-Chancellor begins. Today, it is unfortunate that JNU has  a pro BJP/RSS man(Jagdish Kumar) who discreetly support the ABVP for their violent activities in the campus to make the left student union leaders weak and ineffective. In addition to that, ABVP is supported by the pro- BJP national, social media which confuse the  matter relating to the students and JNU administration. This confusion led to widening the gap between the leaders of both unions.

Jagdish Kumar, despite students and teachers protests inside the campus over several issues is never removed by the Ministry of Human Resources & Development (MHRD). The onus to maintain a peaceful atmosphere largely lies on the shoulder of the Vice-Chancellor for whom all students irrespective of their caste background are equal. The post of a Vice- Chancellor in the university is a respectable post who always maintain a cordial relations with the students and teachers so that the purpose of providing the best education for which JNU has earned his name and fame is served to the best of his physical and intellectual capacity. But it is unfortunate that Jagdish Kumar proved an agent of the BJP/RSS/ABVP who is hell bound to destroy the prestigious university.

Jagdish Kumar, JNU-VC speaks nothing about going after the culprits, bringing them to book and punishing those responsible for laxity in security. He appears to be remorseless and shows complete insensitivity after the attacks by marauders and goons. JNU history will never forgive Jagdish Kumar and his name will be written in black words after he leaves the university. JNU is completely destroyed by the BJP/RSS. Jagdish Kumar, a mole inside the JNU campus has almost blocked the entry of poor students to JNU.

What happened on Sunday 5th Jan 2020 around 8.00 pm inside the campus needs to be condemned completely. Around 50 masked men & women  with iron rods and heavy wooden sticks affiliated to ABVP entered Sabarmati Hostel in the presence of security personnel’s started beating the leaders and supporters of the left student union. Girls and partially blind and handicapped students were also beaten mercilessly  by the ABVP masked goons. More than 30 injured left student union members including the President were taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi Trauma Center for treatment. Masked ABVP goons also broke the glass windows of the hostel and damaged the property of the hostel. The filthy language used by the ABVP masked goons is never taught by JNU teachers/ scholars.

After all this bloodshed inside the campus of JNU, the police could not catch a single masked ABVP men and women who were involved in hooliganism. The question remains how can a powerful police administration is so helpless in this particular case. According to media reports, some masked ABVP men and women are already identified with the help of CCTV camera placed at the entrance of the JNU gate and inside the hostel yet they are roaming free under the nose of the police. Such incidents show that India`s national security is highly vulnerable. No citizen or tax payer should depend upon the police for their safety and security.

Because of ABVP goons being aided by BJP/RSS, educational activities in JNU have ceased. Various study centers are closed. Those who were involved in 2016 incidents are still roaming free.

After this gruesome incident, it is warned that the promoters and global investors are advised not to come to India and invest in the Indian education sector. They should also avoid investing in collaboration with Indian private universities. They should look for other countries to do business in the education sector. The reason being that they will face the same consequences at the hands of ABVP goons who are sponsored by the BJP/RSS and protected by the complicit police. They must learn a lesson from  JNU.

In the prevailing violent and intolerable environment in all government as well as private universities, it is advised that foreign parents  must not send their children to India for studies. At the same time, Indian parents must send their children, if they can afford financially to foreign countries since this government under BJP/RSS has destroyed the education system; left no opportunity for employment for the educated.
