Interactive Session on Investment Opportunities in Punjab

 On 01 August 2018, Confederation of India Industry (CII) in collaboration with Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion, Punjab held Interactive Session on Investment opportunities in Punjab, at Hotel ITC Maurya, New Delhi.  The purpose of the session was mainly to apprise the industrialists of benefits of investments in the state of Punjab. Honorable Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was the chief guest at the interactive session.

At the beginning of the session, a power presentation on the Industrial and Business Development Policy 2017 was given in which industrialists and investors were informed about the positive work culture, quality of power, simplified procedures, freedom to hire and fire, quality of life, Rail and air connectivity, efficient logistic support, ease of doing business, operational clearances, robust infrastructure, least industrial dispute, lowest man-days lost. Power tariff has been reduced to Rs 5 per unit to facilitate the industry.

The Honorable Captain Amarinder Singh, a soft-spoken and statesman, during his brief interaction with the industrialists and investors across India assured them an investment-friendly environment in Punjab. ‘Punjab needs industry to create jobs’, he said. Chief Minister proudly informed the participants that in a period of 14 months of his government in Punjab more than 10,000 crore investment has already come but our target is to achieve 40,000 corers. The officers working day and night in the Bureau of Investment Promotion are there to help and facilitate the industrialists and investors round the clock, he said.

Captain Amarinder Singh also informed the participants that he has already taken up the issue with the Prime Minister of India to establish an industrial corridor in border areas including Rajasthan, Gujarat. I feel glad to inform to all of you that I got a positive response from the Prime Minister, Mr Modi. In the coming years, investors will have more investment opportunities in progressive Punjab, he said.

Shri Mahesh Munjal, Shri Karan Avtar Singh, Shri Sanchit Jain, Shri Tejvir Singh, Shri Rakesh Kumar Verma and Shri Viren Poppli shared the dias and spoke about investment-friendly environment in the state of Punjab.
