The Indian Workers Association (Great Britain) has strongly condemned the deadly terrorist attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney, which targeted Jewish families celebrating Hanukkah and resulted in the deaths of at least 15 people, including children.
In a statement, the Association described the attack as an act of antisemitic hatred and terrorism and expressed its deepest condolences to the families of those killed, as well as to the Jewish community in Australia and across the world.
Sital Singh Gill, General Secretary of the Indian Workers Association (GB), said the attack represented a grave assault on shared human values and democratic principles.
“This brutal and antisemitic attack on innocent families is utterly reprehensible,” he said. “Violence driven by hatred has no place in any society. We stand in full solidarity with the Jewish community in Australia and around the world. An attack on one community is an attack on us all, and we must collectively reject antisemitism, racism and all forms of extremism.”
The Association said that violence motivated by religious or racial hatred threatens social cohesion and undermines the safety of all communities. It called on governments, institutions and civil society to take stronger action to prevent hate crimes and to ensure the protection of minority communities.
The Indian Workers Association (GB) reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to opposing antisemitism, Islamophobia, racism and discrimination in all forms, and urged unity across faiths and communities in response to violence and extremism.
“The answer to hatred must be solidarity, justice and a renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence,” the statement said.
The attack has drawn widespread international condemnation and renewed calls for decisive action against extremist violence and hatred.
